Been going to this local coffee place for years. Hadn't been there in awhile. Man behind counter was not friendly. Asked if we were staying, which we were. Killing time before our next activity. Still got our drinks in paper cups. Mine was a latte and hubby got same but with coconut milk. We each had a baked good. My beverage wasn't even hot. He left the food on counter. My hubby went back to ask about and there they each were in wax paper sacks. Dang it if hipsters are ruining this coffee scene. 😞
Always a great cup of coffee. Added bonus when someone brings their guitar and sings for us.
Quality coffee, just not the greatest roast. Excellent pastries and lattés, mochas, etc.. Hospitable baristas and great environment. Never horribly crowded. Attracts a good following.
These at times are the perfect place for a latte. The service carries from one location to another unfortunately. One location will be the friendliest coffee shop you've ever been and another location they say "what do you want?"
Best Coffee in Syracuse.
Not a great selection of pastries. Uninviting atmosphere, no music. Ordered a Latte and a hot cocoa, not worth 8 bucks. Would've been better off going to dunkin.
Love this place, always great service and great coffee!
A cute location on Armory Square. The coffee is great and they have a quaint but good pastry selection. The service is professional but casual. The facility is clean but the decorations are a little lacking. Maybe with the right amount of patrons or live music, it would give off more warmth. We still prefer it to the Starbucks across the street. But if you want a warm local spot with eclectic art and a vibe, you may come up a bit short. Certainly worth a visit.
Nice girl and cute place but, I’m sorry, the straight espresso shot was nasty and bitter.
Staff was super friendly and drinks were great in a comfortable atmosphere.
Ordered a tall, triple, soy latte, she said it won’t fit in the cup (drink one all the time from Starbucks) switched to grande quad, no foam, fill to top. As she is pouring the milk foam and all into the cup I say no foam please, she says I heard you and continues pouring. I hand it back to her and ask for no foam, she removes it as she explains what a latte is, hands it back to me, now half full, I hand it back and ask her to top it off, she fills the cup with all foam. And the espresso is bitter. Worst customer service ever. Next time I’ll wait in line at Starbucks.
Loved the vibe of the place.
BEST coffee shop ever! I am in absolute love with their, "Joe Heath" blend. That's a very interesting story (who he is and why the coffee is named for him). In any case, wonderful staff and a very welcoming atmosphere in ALL locations. Coffee is a medium roast and BEANS ARE FRESH. I highly encourage a visit.
Was relaxing and the baristas were great
I am an ex-employee of this establishment and I encourage that no one give their money to this business. The employers take total advantage of their employees, making them work 6-7 days a week, full shifts with no breaks. On your ONE day off, you will get called in and made to feel bad when you say no. Not only are you worked like a slave, the owner always falls through with orders placed for the stores, constantly leaving them empty handed and without product. Furthermore, the owner does not even know how to run the store, or even open the cash register! This company barely has enough staff to run the stores, yet they turn away perfectly good resumés because they owners are sexist and like to only hire beautiful young girls. This list could go on forever. So to conclude this review, again, I strongly encourage that no one waste their money at this shop. Spend it elsewhere on far better coffee, where it'll go to a company that actually cares and stands for something.
Cool, chill coffee shop with good drinks. Great for a break or good conversation
Decent coffee in a good city.
Great locally owned coffee Cafe. Dangerously delicious cookies!
Casual coffee shop seating for about 22 people. Seating is mostly small wooden chairs with small round tables. The flow and traffic of the store would make it difficult to setup laptop and work with any privacy. The coffee and baked goods are okay but nothing is unique and great
Awesome coffee, and great baristas.
Love to pop over here for quick workday pick-me-up. I like their cold brew & espresso products but I might try a special "beverage of the day" from time to time.
Always have amazing customer service at Freedom of Espresso!
This place was awesome. I finally found a barista who appreciates tea and made the best cup of tea I have ever had...chocolate chai tea with steamed almond milk and honey. She was also super friendly and welcoming. The wifi was free and worked well. However, the bathrooms were not clean. (Minor inconvenience compared to the rest of the experience).
Coffee is good and the service was friendly.
